Spanish for Seniors!
Thursdays 1:45 - 2:30 pm. Contact Ann at the Community House to register, 978-468-4818. $60 for members, $80 for non-members.

Yoga for Seniors
Friday's 10:30 - 11:30 am at The Community House. Please contact Laurence King, Ignite Your Spirit Yoga at 978-526-8025. $5.00 per class.

Beginners French
We are collecting names of those interested in taking French. Please contact Laurence King at 978-526-8025 to place your name on the list. (Laurence is a native of France who also teaches Yoga!)

All Trips are by Community House van - minimum of 10 people, maximum of 14.


Tuesday, September 9 – Cambridge Double Decker Bus Tour, Boat Tour, and Trolley Tour

First we will take a thrilling tour by boat through the Charles River Locks and tour historic Boston Harbor. Enjoy unprecedented views of Boston and Cambridge.

Next is the Double Decker Bus Tour, fully narrated by a friendly knowledgeable tour guide, this informative 60 minute tour takes you through the historic, bustling streets of Cambridge.  We'll stop at the Cambridgeside Galleria for lunch at the California Pizza Kitchen and then we will take a fully narrated Trolley Tour and cover more than 100 points of interest in Boston. We'll follow along the Freedom Trail, the North End-Little Italy, Charlestown, the Boston Waterfront, the Back Bay, and other areas.

Leave the Community House at 8:30 am, return around 4:30 to 5pm

$50 members, $55 nonmembers includes transportation and tours. Lunch is on your own.


Thursday, September 25 – Port City Tours (Newburyport and Amesbury)

Discover the sights and sounds of historic Newburyport, then travel to Amesbury and enjoy the rich culture of colonial and industrial Amesbury – an entertaining and informative tour.  Lunch at the Barking Dog in Amesbury.  After lunch we can wander around Amesbury visiting museums, shops or enjoying the Riverwalk.

Leave at 9:30am from the Community House. This trip is limited to 11 people.

Monday, October 6 – Gore Place, Waltham MA

This early 1800s estate of Massachusetts Governor Christopher Gore includes a small farm with sheep, goats and poultry.  The elegantly furnished mansion has been called the “Monticello of the North” and architectural historians consider it to be the most t significant Federal period mansion in New England.

Lunch after our 11am tour at the Chateau.

Leave at 9:30am from the Community House.

$22 per person members, $25 nonmembers includes transportation and tour. Lunch is on your own.


Wednesday, October 22 – Quabbin Foliage Tour and Salem Cross Inn

First stop is the Oakwood Farm Christmas Barn which is 175 years old and chock full of unique items.  Lunch is included at the 1705 Salem Cross Inn (Old Fashioned Yankee Pot Roast) which preserves the traditional standard of attention to detail and insistence on the highest quality service.  After lunch a guide will board the coach for a one hour guided tour of the Quabbin Reservoir which is incredibly beautiful during the fall season.  Our last stop is the Brookfield Orchards for apples, cider, homemade jellies, books, maps, antiques, crafts and more.

Leave at 7:45am from the Community House. Return 5-5:30pm. $53 per person, all inclusive. Must register by September 10. We need 35 people for this trip to go. This trip is provided by Jodies' Place and is a full size air-conditioned coach with restroom and tour guide.


Monday, November 3 - Harvard Museum of Natural History

The University's most visited attraction includes the Glass Flowers (a unique collection of over 3,000 models created by glass artisans Leopold Blaschka and his son, Rudolph. The commission began in 1886, continued for five decades, and the collection represents more than 830 plant species) and Sea Creatures, another glass collection by the same artists.  Lunch, on your own, at Grendel’s Den – "resisting the tide of corporate homogenization since 1971."

Leave at 9am from the Community House

$30 members, $35 non members includes transportation, museum admission. Lunch is on your own.

Enjoy a scrumptious breakfast prepared by the Hamilton-Wenham Rotary - eggs, bacon, sausage, fruit, breads, juice, coffee, tea, etc Entertainment to follow breakfast (will be announced at a later date).  

This trip is provided by Jodies' Place and is a full size air-conditioned coach with restroom and tour guide.

 


BSO Rehearsals- experience a BSO concert in the making.  BSO Rehearsals offer audience members a unique perspective on the creative dynamic between orchestra and conductor.  Each Open Rehearsal begins with a 1/2 hour informative talk.

Tuesday, December 9 - Newport Christmas and Father Pat's Concert

Celebrate the holiday season at the beautiful mansions of Newport, RI all decorated in festive themes.  We will have a guided tour of the Breakers Mansion fully decorated in the traditional Christmas colors.  Nest, it’s time for lunch a t the Atlantic Beach Club Restaurant overlooking Newport Bay (Chicken or Schrod). We'll arrive at Lasalette Shrine in Attleboro just in time for Father Pat's Concert.  Enjoy one hour of traditional, holiday and inspirational songs.  After the concert, visit the gift shop and get something to eat in the cafeteria before seeing the spectacular light display known as the Festival of Lights.

Leave the Community House at 7:15am, Return at 7-7:30pm. $59 per person, all inclusive. Must register by November 4. We need 35 people for this trip to go.
